London & South East Region Air Cadets consists of six wings, which cover Greater London and the counties of Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Middlesex and Essex. In total these wings are made up of over 160 squadrons, who meet twice a week and provide valuable training opportunities for young people.

There are around 6500 cadets in London & South East Region, who range in age from 12 to 19. Their training and development is made possible by the support of over 1500 adult volunteers.

London & South East Region is one of six regions which make up the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, a national youth formation with nearly 41,000 members. It provides amazing life opportunities and nationally recognised training qualifications to all cadets and volunteers.

The aims of the Air Cadets are to:

  • Promote and encourage an interest in aviation and the RAF.
  • Provide training that would be useful in both Service as well as civilian life.
  • Foster a spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship.

Our website is designed to:

  • Provide more information about the RAF Air Cadets for cadets and adult volunteers.
  • Give you an idea of the opportunities available.
  • Give cadets/adult volunteers who are considering joining the organisation a better understanding of what we do.
